JET TRANSITION AND SYSTEMS (JT)
Based on the Cessna Citation C550, this 3-day course provides the student with an excellent basis for transitioning to a full type course on a complex jet aircraft and would be a great advantage to assist in the airline hiring process. The classroom and Flight Training Device (FTD) phase provides knowledge on jet aircraft systems, automation, SOPs, PF and PNF duties, abnormal/emergency procedures, cockpit discipline, use of QRH and checklists. The simulator phase covers a full jet handling profile that includes:
- Jet upset
- Speed and trim control – VMO to incipient stall
- Stalls
- Unusual attitudes
- Recovery techniques for TCAS, GPWS, Windshear
- High altitude maneuvering
- Dutch roll
- Emergency descent
- Steep turns
- Engine out
- Takeoff and landing

- Flap failure
The Jet Transition and Systems Course uses classroom, a flight training device and the Level D simulator for the C550 to meet the above course training objectives. It is offered in Ottawa on request. There must be a minimum of 3 students and a maximum of 9 students in order to keep the instruction personalized and make maximum use of all training facilities.
